Well, that’s not completely true, isn’t it?
One of the major annoyances of being one of triplets is that you never get to celebrate an “I” but an “Us”. However, I must confess that no birthday will be the same without it. Since infinity, my sisters and I celebrated our birthday together no matter where we are and what stage in our life we live in. Some traditions have never failed our mood and we kept on with them. One special tradition that I especially like is to buy matching flower crowns and wear them together. It is embarrassing sometimes, let me tell you that. Nevertheless, I would never wish to miss the shameful expressions of my sisters wearing them, even for the greatest reaches the world has to offer! This priceless moment struck me every time LOL.
This year, as always, I bought matching flower crowns and for the first time, on our 27 birthday, we decided to have shared tattoos. We started our morning at Ashdod planing how the tattoo will look like and after a long session of self persuading, I had it. It was a little small tattoo that contains a set of three gems held by the shape of the moon. Our bond is strong and unreplaceable such as the bond our names share with one another.
Opal, Almog, and Sapir.
Eventually, I had two of them. One, the matching tattoo, and the second, a unique one just for myself. Since I remember, I was in love with princess Ariel and her powerful personality. For the little child in me, she always had been the epitome of stubbornness, self-drive, hope, and achievement. I wished for a constant reminder of my own strength and wished to always give a voice to my dreams and so I have decided to tattoo the figure of her on my wrist. Satisfied and happy I walked out of that tattoo shop.
For the morning of my birthday, I have decided to wear a long bright-orange skirt, a white simple tank top, and a cute little bag to match it. It was one of the last days of summer and the sun was blazing brightly on that special morning.
Another tradition is that my mother cooks a feast of dishes for our birthday including baking a beautiful cake. However, this year, we decided to buy the cake from someone who is known for her unique flowery cake and we decided to purchase it with pastel colors such as purple, blue, and pink. We set the table with fresh flowers, lighting candles, and white plates.
For the birthday dinner, to compliment the colors of that cake, I choose a satin purple long maxi dress that was decorated with little pink flowers. Later on that evening, my grandparents have arrived and we dined all together.
This birthday was full of blessings, light, and good food.
