Packing a suitcase. It already sounds tiring, I know right? But don’t give up just yet. I have some essentials that you have to remember while you’re getting ready for the vacation of your dreams!
It is widely acknowledged that packing for a vacation is a nerve-racking, stressful task. However, I believe in Prep and order and that of course never hurts anyone before. For every vacation that I went, I planned my outfits in advance, thought about what to combine with what, and what image do I wish to create in my photos. Planning ahead has always been a hobby of mine and I wish that you will embrace it as well. It sounds like a lot, I know, but believe me when I say it will be worth it. Except for the obvious reasons, it’s actually quite fun!
The ability to combine the patterns and the colors in advance, allows me (and you) to plan the locations carefully and to find the most beautiful places one can think of. My essential pieces of advice can help anyone anywhere.
My first piece of advice to you is, research the places you want to visit in advance and accordingly you can plan what to wear. The weather, for example, is something you need to consider. There is no need to take your whole closet and place it inside your suitcase if you already know how warm or cold that destination is. It will save you room for more presents to bring, and there’s no greater fun than to bring more gifts to your family and friends! While locating the places you wish to see, you can think of the palette of colors you wish to wear, whether they are contrasting or matching with the view. It can be a fluffy skirt or a stylish hat, as long as you are feeling comfortable and confident.
Advice No. 2, be bold! Do not be afraid of colors and always remember, you get to wear whatever you want in a place that no one knows you, so get wild and think big. I have always believed that it is essential to dress pretty while traveling in the most beautiful places in the world. Whether it is a flowery restaurant, colorful building, or a busy square, I strongly urge you to “respect” the locations by dressing nicely for them 🙂
Advice No.3, Travel with company. The more people you travel with, the more options are available for you. Taking from my traveling so far, I have always preferred to travel with family or friends and since they knew my obsession for clothes, they donated them to me when I was in a time of need. My sisters and I exchange clothes endlessly and it saved me quite a few times when I was indecisive and helpless with the clothes I chose to pack for myself. Because I must confess, no matter how long you would plan this, some unexpected moments will happen and you will need this special friend next to you when it does.
Last and not least, trust yourself. Easy to say hard to achieve I know, but trust me when I say this. If you are managing to plan your outfits carefully, you will not need to pack unnecessary clothes. Be decisive, confident, and trust your choice of clothes. I believe that from all the advices I listed for you, this one is the most important one. have confidence in yourself and in what you wear, and it will shine brightly through the pictures you take.
Those were my essentials to pack while you are packing your suitcase for a one-of-a-lifetime experience. I would love to hear what are yours so don’t forget to leave a comment below.
