It took me two months, but now I can acknowledge that I’m actually 29. I know, some might say it’s not a big deal, but to be honest, it’s hard to believe I’m just a year away from hitting 30.
Turning 30 feels significant and kind of serious. At 29, I already realize I haven’t accomplished half of what I want to achieve. I mean, the journey is still ahead, but at least I’m making progress, right?
To celebrate this year, I opted for a trip to London and booked another photoshoot with the incredible Jordan Rose. It’s my third time working with her, and I absolutely adore her work! The initial photoshoot was for my 28th birthday, and the second one featured my mom and twin sister as we spent a delightful afternoon sipping tea at the Lanesborough Hotel.
This time, I’ve chosen to have the photoshoot at the charmingly dilapidated terrace in Hampstead Heath. It exudes an old-world charm, and I aimed for my pictures to capture a magical ambiance.
Hampstead Pergola is truly a location suited for every season, exhibiting equal beauty whether adorned with winter snow or basking in the summer sun. During spring, wisteria gracefully winds around the trellises, and in autumn, a carpet of fallen leaves adds an extra layer of charm to the surroundings.
I’ve decided to bring along four dresses for the trip. The first one I picked up was the House of CB’s Taupe corset sun dress. Crafted from a comfy twill fabric, it featured a structured bodice and a sweetheart neckline, providing a perfect fit with a lovely volume to the midi skirt. The second dress was also from House of CB, a white corset mini dress, the epitome of a soft girl’s dream. With a romantic sweetheart neckline, gathered underwired cups, and a pin-tuck bodice with internal boning, it accentuated the waist. The charming lace-up back and lace-edged lining added a delightful touch, creating a dreamy and feminine vibe. The third dress was a rose-print corset midi dress with a high slit. Lastly, the fourth dress was a borrowed sky-blue soft maxi dress from one of my sisters.
Fortunately, we arrived at the location around 11 am, and there was no one there except for us and a few gardeners tending to the gardens and cleaning the floors. We had the freedom to explore and capture as many pictures as we liked.
The photos ended up looking fantastic, just as anticipated.
As I embark on the final chapter of my twenties, may this year be a tapestry of joy, growth, and unforgettable moments. May I seize every opportunity, conquer new challenges, and savor the sweetest victories. Here’s to a year filled with love, laughter, and the discovery of my truest self. Happy last year of my twenties!
